Artists, this week we will be looking at a little optical illusion. I am unaware of the artist, or the date of its creation. I will give extra credit to the first people to send me appropriately cited information in regard to this image.

Each objective comment is worth 1 point, and a maximum of 3 points can be earned for an original posting. You must cite one outside source. Additionally, you are expected to respond to at least one other post with a minimum of two objective posts. Original and Peer-Response posts will total to five points. Starting on Week 27, you will be expected to draw the blog image as one of your homework drawings.

At first look this image looks simple to replicate, but when you look deaply you see the optical ollusion and wonder whether it will be difficult or hard to replicate.
ReplyDeleteThis drawing seems moderate in difficulty depending on the effort of which you will put forth in it. If you look and try and replicate every dot I see a challenge in your view.
(P.S. You are so late on this post, now I have homework :( lol)
This image looks easy to replicate but when you stare at this picture. it made you confuse at elephant's legs. i will start at elephant's head and you must make a lot of dot on the body.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first looked at the picture, I thought that this is easy to replicate because it is just a simple elephant. But when I looked carefully, I realized that the legs are weird. So I think it is hard to replicate.
ReplyDeleteI will start from the ear because I think that would be the easiest way to do.
I think the challenge of this picture are the legs and the dots.
And I agree with Ry that this week blog post is very late!!
I afree wtih Praewa that it seems simple but then it confuses you and makes you think it will be hard to replicate.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Milk that starting at the Elephants head is probably the easiest way to draw this picture.
The drawing looks simple to replicate, but when you look a second time you see that it is not that easy because ot the optical illusion. I think it is hard to replicate.
ReplyDeleteThe image has a lot of little things that are hard to copy. I think it is a challenge to draw it.
I agree with Ry that the image looks at the first look simple to replicate.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Ry that the image seems moderate in difficulty depending on the effort of which you will put forth in it.
At the beginning looking at the image it looks easy. When you look into to image you notice that the feet are not connected to the body the gaps are the feet. That is why this is going to be a difficult drawing. I would work from the top down on this drawing.
ReplyDeletei also agree with Ry about how it looks easy but is not.
ReplyDeleteI think the elephant would be difficult to draw because you would have to draw all the body parts. I would first draw the main body. Then, I would draw its truck, then its feet and its tusks. The last things that I would draw would be its ears, its eyes, and finally all the little details. To overcome the challenges that I would encounter I would take my time, maybe draw the legs all the same size, and practice drawing it first and in different ways. I agree with Milk that starting with the head might be the easiest way to start this drawing.
ReplyDeletei agree with CB3176 that When you look into to image you notice that the feet are not connected to the body the gaps are the feet.
ReplyDeleteI think it is kind of easy to reproduce, if you just start at the top, then you find your way down to the legs and finally draw the feet in the spots between the legs.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Ry and that this drawing seems moderate in difficulty depending on the effort of which you will put forth in it.
the picture looks easy to replicate because this is just elephant picture. but if you concentrate at the picture you will realize that its hard to replicate especaily elephant's legs. and i would start from the ear, because i think it's the easiest to start drawing. the challenge of this picture i think it would be elephant's legs.
ReplyDeleteand i agree with milk that it looks easy to replicate but when you start to drawing. it make you confuse.
I think this will be fairly easy to replicate. The legs might be a bit difficult so I think if I look at it piece by piece it won't be so confusing. I might also throw it into MS Paint to gets some of the spray painty look.
ReplyDeleteI think the outside/shape would be easy to draw, but getting all the little dots in the right places would be extreemly difficult. If I were to draw this picture, I would start with the outline, then work my way towards the middle, while keeping all the little dots untill last.
ReplyDeleteafter looking at it, it will be in between easy and hard. Because i know how i should draw it so that the illusion doesn't trick me. But it is still not that easy of a drawing
ReplyDeleteWhen i first looked at this picture it looked like a normal picture of an elephant. But then i felt like my head was messing with me, because it seemed to look somewhat odd and out of place after i stared at it for awhile. Then i came to the conclusion that it was an optical illusion and that was the reason why it looked so odd and out of place. When i came to the part of drawing this picture i really had to study the different affects in it and decide where would be better to start. But after awhile i got the hang of where the lines met and figured out that it wasnt too hard of a concept.
ReplyDeleteAnd i agree with Ry when she mentioned that the drawing seems moderate in difficulty depending on the effort of which you will put forth in it.
